Professor Bernice Summerfield: The Poison Seas (#4.03)
|
|
|
Bernice has visited the planet Chosan before, so she seems the ideal
candidate to intervene when a Sea Devil colony there comes under threat
from a terrorist cell. Under cover of visiting an old friend, Bernice
sets out to learn who is working in league with the terrorists to
ensure the eradication of the colony.
But as she delves deeper under the oceans of Chosan, she discovers that
something else something much more ancient and powerful wants rid
of the Sea Devils. Soon, every living thing on the planet is in peril.
And all because there's no place like home...

Lurnix: "May this ocean take you and claim you, make you one
with it..."
Benny: "The next time you volunteer me for an undercover,
counter-terrorism mission can you make sure it isn't happening
several hundred metres below sea level?"
Lurnix: "It was science, human progress and their pollution
that forced us to leave our home and come here. I will not let
science decide my fate again."
Petersen: "Is she going to be trouble?" Carver: "A
tourist like her? No, no trouble. Just another innocent victim..."
Benny: "Someone's been murdered. That's the universal signal
for not right."
Nedda: "I may not subscribe to our old religion, but I would
be a fool not to believe that bigger things guide our destiny."
Benny: "Are you sure that's old enough to be as bitter and
twisted as you so obviously are?"
The Poison Seas is David Bailey's
third Benny audio, and revisits the planet Chosan, setting for his
first The Secret Of Cassandra.
It features the Sea Devils who first appeared in
the 1973 Doctor Who serial The Sea Devils by Malcolm
Hulke.
