Professor Bernice Summerfield: The Draconian Rage (#4.02)
|
|
|
On the fringes of the Draconian Empire, an entire planet has gone mad:
twenty million Draconians lie dead victims of an ancient,
apocalyptic suicide ritual.
Now the Draconians need an archaeologist and in particular they want
Professor Bernice Summerfield.
Female and human, Benny is everything a Draconian distrusts. So why
has she been invited to the very heart of the Imperial Homeworld?
As an age-old conspiracy deepens around her, and her own bad memories
are disturbed, Benny wonders if she can really trust the Draconians?
And, even worse, if she can even trust herself.
|
|
Braxiatel: "How many human beings get an invitation to
Draconia? Just think about that." Benny: "Not many, because the
Draconians don't actually like humans much. And they like females
even less! The whole thing is absurd!"
Vasar: "Your visit here is not considered to be one worthy of
public spectacle."
Benny: "I'm an archaeologist, not a terrorist!"
Shenn: "We live as flames, die in ashes but we only sleep in
darkness."
Shenn: "What's the point in being obvious?"
Paranesh: "Memories, like the flame itself, never die."
Benny: "You sure know how to treat a girl don't you? Invite
her to your planet, show her the sights, drill a hole through her
skull."
This is Trevor Baxendale's first
Benny audio and features the Draconians from the 1973 Doctor Who
story Frontier In Space, written by Malcolm Hulke.
