Doctor Who: Excelis Rising (#02)
|
|
|
A thousand years after his first visit to the planet Artaris, the Doctor
returns. The City of Excelis has grown, spreading a vast Empire throughout
the globe. Science and engineering have provided a new Age of Reason.
But the more things change, the more they stay the same, and once again
death follows the mysterious Relic through the halls of the Imperial
Museum.
When the Doctor finds himself helping the Curator and the local
authorities with this mystery, he finds himself crossing paths with a
familiar face from Excelis' history - but no-one lives for a thousand
years, do they?
|
|
The Curator: 'I suppose it could be a new delivery, an example of
Calanite civilisation - while they've still got one...'
Inquisitor Danby: 'I suppose if you were lying, you'd tell a
better tale!'
The Doctor: 'It can't be him! Not after a thousand years...'
Reeve Maupassant: 'I don't resort to torture, because experience
has taught me that torturing people like you for what I want to know,
doesn't really work.'
Excelis Rising is the second of the Excelis series, and marks the
first Doctor Who audio script written by prolific author
David A. McIntee.
Anthony Stewart Head is probably most famous for his role as Rupert Giles
on Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Charles Kay has appeared in such noted productions as I, Claudius,
To Serve Them All My Days, and Edge Of Darkness.
