Doctor Who: Dreamtime (#67)
|
|
|
The Dreamtime is living Time. The Dreaming is living myth.
A city travels the stars, inhabited by stone ghosts. At its heart, an
ancient remembrance of Earth. Mythical creatures stalk the streets and
alien visitors have come in search of trade. But there is nothing to
trade. There is only fear. And death. And the stone ghosts.
For Hex's first trip in the TARDIS, it's about the strangest place he
could have imagined. Weird and very far from wonderful. Adjustment to his
new life could prove tough. But he will have to adjust and do more, just
to stay alive, and Ace will have to be his guide through this lost city
of shadows and predatory dreams. And the Doctor is the first to go
missing.
The Doctor has crossed into the Dreamtime.

Episode One:
Hex wonders what's happened to the Doctor but the Dream Commandos explain that he and Toomey have both been taken and are now lost. They point out the new statues which indicate that the Doctor sleeps in stone.
Episode Two:
Whitten tells the driver to kill the engine and listen. His sense of panic escalates as he realises that it's too late for them all as the whole Earth is waking up...
Episode Three:
Ace is offered a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea, but as she apparently prefers drowning she is pushed deeper beneath the water...
Episode Four:
After Hex comments on how he now sees the realms of possibilities, the Doctor tells him he believes they'll make a seasoned time-traveller out of him as they enter the TARDIS and it dematerialises...
Hex: "A city this size? There ought to be some sort of noise."
The Doctor: "Who's to say what's natural in a place like this?"
The Doctor: "Let's just hope yours are the only spirits waiting to be raised."
The Doctor: "Landmarks are meant to be identifiable, even if you stumble across them in the most unexpected places."
Korshal: "We mean you no harm. But there is no harm in being prepared."
Hex: "Breathtaking's not my favourite word when there's only a force field between us and deep space."
Vresha: "Nightmares and reality can coincide."
Hex: "I never thought I'd be so glad to see a lot of giant lizards with big guns."
Dreamtime is Simon A. Forward's
second Doctor Who audio script, his first being 2002's
The Sandman. This story looks set to revisit
in some form that script's creation, The Galyari, as
Steffan Rhodri is playing the same
Galyari Commander as in Forward's
Bernice Summerfield play, The Bone Of
Contention.
