From The Back Cover...

Self-exiled to a new universe, separated from his TARDIS, opposed and manipulated by the Divergence and their agent the Kro'ka, the Doctor has been struggling to work out the nature of the cosmic game in which he's an unwilling pawn. Now, at last, he has a chance to find the answer and regain the TARDIS!

Threatened and desperate, the Kro'ka abandons his behind-the-scenes machinations to confront the Doctor directly. But will both of them lose their way in the maze of the strange world in which they find themselves? A world in which a clock may have a cuckoo but no hands, a labyrinth imprisoning a paradox, and a Garden of Curiosities reveals something the Doctor has never seen before.

As the Doctor faces these challenges, Charley and C'rizz provide valuable help. But with the TARDIS itself at stake, the Doctor reaches deep inside himself to find some surprising new allies...

Episode Endings

Episode One:
Once through Interzone portal, the three travellers are greeted by two other, familiar, figures. Charley asks if she's hallucinating but the Doctor assures her that what she is seeing is true. There are three of him...

Episode Two:
The Doctor believes something has manipulated them into running like rats through a maze. But the passage the travellers have arrived in has more twists and turns than one, prompting speculation that it's a traditional labyrinth. And when a roar echoes out from deep within, it seems it has the traditional monster at the centre too...

Episode Three:
The Doctor accuses the Kro'ka of being as lost and cut off from his home as he is. The Kro'ka silences him and the Doctor screams. The time for talking is over; it's time the Kro'ka got to work...

Episode Four:
C'rizz realises that the Divergents no longer have the advantage now the Doctor has his TARDIS back. He can now elude them until he's ready to face them. They can no longer travel in time but all of space is theirs to explore in this new universe...

Memorable Quotes

The Kro'ka: "I am not interested in your petty adventures."

The Doctor: "I'm not laughing, I'm sneering! A distinction perhaps too subtle for you."

The Doctor: "You're not dealing with an amateur here."

The Kro'ka: "You are an arrogant fool, Doctor. This is another universe. It contains forces you've never dreamed of, pain you have never imagined!"

The Doctor: "When I play mental games, I usually prefer maths puzzles. Would you like to see the equations room?"

The Doctor: "Your imagination seems to run to the hackneyed."

The Doctor: "Of course I'm not all right, I'm being torn between temporal extremes!"

The Doctor: "Such a winning personality, he ought to run for dictator."

The Doctor: "I may talk like a fool, but I always know what I'm talking like a fool about."

Comments

Caerdroia is written by Lloyd Rose, who previously wrote for the seminal drama series Homicide: Life On The Street, as well as authoring two acclaimed Doctor Who novels (The City Of The Dead and Camera Obscura) for the BBC's Eighth Doctor book range.

The alternative cover to Caerdroia (seen above in the roll-over image) was produced as a limited edition for the 10th Planet shop to mark the November 2004 Dimensions convention.
