Doctor Who: Arrangements For War (#57)
|
|
|
Onboard the TARDIS, nerves are strained.
After escaping the Forge and the murderous clutches of Nimrod, the Doctor
and Evelyn have things to talk about. The Doctor's attitude towards
death is a subject that these days is too close to Evelyn's heart, and
eventually she demands to be set down somewhere where she can be free
of him for a while.
And so they come to Világ, where the Doctor's meddling lands him in the
middle of a truly dangerous liaison and Evelyn meets a man who wants to
change the course of her life forever.
Love is everywhere. But then war is too.
Is it time for Evelyn to leave the Doctor? Or is the choice about to be
taken out of her hands?
And who is to say what is the beginning and what is the end of love?

Episode One:
When the Doctor sees how Reid and Krista react to each other, he
realises that their romance could destroy the alliance and leave the
planet defenceless against the invading Killorans. And it'll all be
his fault...
Episode Two:
Rossiter tells Evelyn that he wants to feel like this all the time.
He confesses that he loves her, and wants her to stay with him. He's
asking her to leave the Doctor...
Episode Three:
Krista tells the Doctor he can call Mortund back later after their
conversation is abruptly cut off. The Doctor realises that the
Killoran invasion has begun and there may not be a later...
Episode Four:
With the Doctor and Evelyn reconciled as they watch the young Krista
and Marcus together, the Doctor tells Evelyn that her boots need a
bit of a clean...
The Doctor: "I can't change what happened. I never can."
Evelyn: "I can't just switch the emotions on and off between
battles for the universe."
Evelyn: "Find me an interesting period, somewhere. Anywhere. Somewhere
where you don't have to help the underdog or rally the resistance."
Krisztinsa: "It is about the end of childhood. About growing up and
facing ones duty and responsibilities."
Suskind: "There is at least a dignity in war."
The Doctor: "You have to be willing to live with the consequences of
your action or inaction."
Rossiter: "The things we hold dear are always remembered forever."
This is Paul Sutton's first script for
Big Finish. Gabriel Woolf memorably
appeared as Sutekh in the 1975 Doctor Who story Pyramids Of
Mars.
