Episode One:
The Editor reassures the female Prole the process
is for her own good. The State loves her and he asks her to say
goodbye to everything she ever knew...
Episode Two:
The Sub-Editor informs his superior that the
Nurse's husband has filed a missing person's report on her. The
Editor tells him to revise anyone who had contact with the Nurse -
she must be erased from public memory immediately. And so the
revolution begins...
Episode Three:
As the Editor escapes the Conscience, he promises
them that he will destroy the revolution and stop the Doctor. He
will save Light City and he will kill anyone who tries to stop him...
Episode Four:
The former Editor contemplates his actions
while outside the mass of assembled citizens continually chant the
question "why?" as they set about pulling down the old order
and beginning all over again...
"I've committed the ultimate sin! I've asked a question!"
"Who can really say whether the things we think of as real and
meaningful even exist except in our own minds?"
"Society is built upon a wheel of change. Prevent change and you
prevent advancement, only stagnation is left. Do you agree?
Without change we die!"
"The truth is addictive but it cuts so deep."
"A fist is not a threat, a gun is not a threat, a word is a threat.
An idea is a threat. Ideas are patient."
This is Jim Mortimore's first script
for Big Finish. As well as working on the post-production side of
many previous audios, he has also written numerous Doctor Who
novels such as Parasite, Eye Of Heaven, Beltempest
and Bloodheat.
Big Finish deliberately omitted to list character names for this story
as "the performances were more important than the actual names".
