Dark Space 8 - an advanced monitoring station floating serenely
among the stars. Its crew - a dedicated and highly-skilled group of
professionals, calmy going about their vital work. Its mission - to
boldy host the Intergalactic Song Contest.
With representatives from myriad worlds competing, the eyes of the
universe are on the station. But dark deeds are afoot aboard
Dark Space 8... and people are starting to die.
The haughty Queen Angvia, the gaseous gestalt Gholos, disposable
pop idol Nicky Neumann, erratic Professor Fassbinder and the
icily-efficient Dr Helena Harcourt all are suspects. Could old
political rivalries be manifesting themselves among the contestants? Is
this the work of a breakaway terrorist faction? Or has someone just got
it in for singer-songwriters?
With peace in the galaxy hanging by a thread, it's vital that the
mystery is solved and fast! Can Dark Space 8's unconventional
new commander, with the help of his personal pilot, Mel, find the murderer
in time to prevent a major intergalactic war?
Or will it be nul points for the entire universe...?

|
Episode One:
Alerted by an alarm, Mel and Nicky discover the Cyrene contestant's fallen
body. Mel gravely realises that there is a murderer loose aboard
Dark Space 8...
Episode Two:
Mel and Nicky investigate Fassbinder's laboratory but discover commentator
Logan has been stabbed in the back. The murderer has struck again...
Episode Three:
The Doctor berates Mel for attacking their greatest ally in Geri, who
he reveals is at the Intergalactic Song Contest because there is no peace
conference at Achilles IV, as that's just a sideshow. The real conference
is onboard Dark Space 8...
Episode Four:
As the Doctor's spoon-playing was deemed good enough to actually win
the Intergalactic Song Contest, with their cover blown, the Doctor and
Mel make a swift exit...
Logan: "The entrants are just docking here at Dark Space 8
and the excitement's bearable. Sorry, I mean unbearable. Or do I?"
The Doctor: "I didn't have a plan, I was just making it up
as I went along."
Mel: "Could you please stop doing that proverb thing Doctor?
It's really annoying."
The Doctor: "Mel did warn me not to get involved, but
getting involved is my stock in trade, and it is a very nice uniform
which I must show off to someone!"
Queen Angvia: "Is that your philosophy? No shouting! No
surprise you're all such weaklings on this side of the galaxy."
Fassbinder: "Marvellous, one of the contestants has just been
murdered and all the neutral arbiter can think about is nuts!"
The Doctor: "Every Poirot needs his Watson!"
Mel: "The way the professor and Eleanor talk, you'd think the
place was a hotbed of adventure!"
Angvia: "The Universe can wait, I am a woman!"
