Episode Endings

Episode One:
As Ferras and Orlensa come close enough to Charley for her to see them properly, she’s shocked. She can see their faces, but from their reactions they don’t know what’s happened to them. She pauses before telling them that they’ve both lost their eyes...

Episode Two:
The new wave of particles is more powerful, and it seems to that the Cimmerians are trying to kill them. The Doctor tells Charley that they may have solved the mystery of the Cimmerian System, but it looks like that information will die with them...

Episode Three:
As the first dawn in the Cimmerian system for a thousand years begins, the ROSM reports unidentified objects entering the System. Charley retorts that they haven’t wasted any time, and the Doctor knows that it’s the return of the ancients...

Episode Four:
After Charley informs Haliard that she used her feminine guile to defeat him in the draughts, the Doctor asks her if she’s ready to go, which she assures him that she definitely is...

Memorable Quotes

The Doctor: 'It's probably just Rassilon's Flag Day, or something.'

Charley: 'I'm not just a historical curiosity after all, am I?'

Orllensa: I don't think I'll ever forget for as long as I live. But how long is that going to be?'

Ferras: 'They took away the light. How can you see us?'

The Doctor: 'Dark and foreboding. I'm beginning to feel right at home.'

Haliard: 'It doesn't matter who I am, who you are. The darkness will devour us all.'

The Doctor: 'I'd rather be bored than dead any day.'

The Doctor: 'Do you ever get the feeling fate's against you?'

Comments

Embrace The Darkness is Nicholas Briggs' fourth full script for the Doctor Who audio series, but the first where he hasn't composed the music and created the sound design, which here is done by Jim Mortimore.
