Doctor Who: Primeval (#26)
|
|
|
Nyssa will die at dawn, and the Doctor doesn't even know why.
To save her life, he must make a desperate journey to the only place in
the universe where a cure might exist.
When even that fails, the Doctor has a choice let Nyssa die, or make a
deal with the devil.
After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Episode One:
The Doctor tells Kwundaar that he will do anything he want’s if he helps
Nyssa. He tells him that he wants to do business face to face and he’s not
impressed with the theatrics. The Doctor isn't frightened of him. But when
Kwundaar appears, the Doctor screams in absolute terror...
Episode Two:
Kwundaar admits that Nyssa is under the control of his will. Nyssa is
resisting him, and that will destroy her mind. Nyssa is not his agent,
the Doctor is. The Doctor will do anything to save Nyssa and will give
the source to Kwundaar and the planet will be his. The Doctor will have
totally failed, and then he will be killed...
Episode Three:
While Kwundaar’s followers chant his name, the Doctor realises that he’s
been tricked. His actions have ensured that Kwundaar can gain access to
Traken and in doing so he may have handed him the ultimate power of the
universe...
Episode Four:
Nyssa assures the Doctor that she wants to stay with him. The Doctor tells
her that Kwundaar sent out a signal so that other Primeval beings have
been brought back into the universe and they know where to find him. Find
us, she corrects him before telling the Doctor that it sounds like they
have work to do...
The Doctor: 'You'll have to forgive me, I always find it difficult to relax somewhere so tranquil.
In my experience every paradise has it’s serpents somewhere.'
The Doctor: 'I've travelled quite widely and met the most terrible people, with the most appalling beliefs. I consider them evil, but I'm sure if you were to ask them they'd tell you that I'm the monster, not them. Evil is relative.'
The Doctor: 'Never discuss religion or politics at the dinning table.'
Kwundaar: 'My agent will soon bring the walls of paradise down.'
Sabian: 'What could we wish for that we don't already have here in abundance?'
The Doctor: 'I'm not impressed by these theatrics.'
The Doctor: 'The mark of a gentleman is that he knows how to Charleston, but doesn't.'
Anona: 'We follow the law of Kwundaar himself, the purest law in the universe. Impose your will on others lest they impose theirs on you.'
Primeval marks popular Doctor Who novelist
Lance Parkin's
first Doctor Who audio story, and features
Stephen Greif who is
perhaps best known for his portrayal of Travis on Blake's 7,
and also Susan Penhaligon who previously
appeared in Doctor Who in 1972's The Time Monster.
