Doctor Who: Dust Breeding (#21)
|
|
|
On nineteenth century Earth, artist Edvard Munch hears an infinite scream
pass through nature. Centuries later, his painting of that Scream hangs
in a gallery on the barren dust world Duchamp 331. Why is there a colony
of artists on a planet that is little more than a glorified garage? What
is the event that the passengers of the huge, opulent pleasure cruiser
'Gallery' are hoping to see? And what is hidden in the creates that
litter the cargo hold?
The Doctor's diary indicates that the painting is about to be destroyed
in "mysterious circumstances", and when he and Ace arrive on Duchamp 331,
those circumstances are well underway.

Episode One:
The Doctor and Bev realise that the body they are examining has no blood,
but only dust inside it. The removed particles begin moving by themselves,
and at the same time the corpse begins to rise up...
Episode Two:
After discovering what Klemp was doing, Seta activates his device and the
Krill begin to revive. Klemp looks on in horror as Seta reveals his true
identity...
Episode Three:
The Doctor arrives on the Gallery and is confronted by Seta, who is
delighted by his unexpected presence. But Seta takes great delight in
telling the Doctor that this time, he’s already won...
Episode Four:
The Doctor and Ace ponder the fact that it the quest for a simple painting
that got them involved in all of this, and Ace suggests that the Doctor
should take up stamp collecting instead. It would make life a lot easier...
The Doctor: 'Something in the dust. Or the dust itself...'
Seta: 'This mask I wear can be misleading. People take it to mean
I'm disabled, in some way, infirm perhaps. I assure you, I'm anything
but.'
Seta: 'Curiosity can be a very dangerous pastime.'
Bev Tarrant: 'At least we get to die in style.'
Dust Breeding sees the return of many old faces.
Louise Faulkner reprises her role as
Bev Tarrant (from The Genocide Machine)
and former Third Doctor companion Caroline
John returns playing Madame Salvadori.
Geoffrey Beevers, who played The Master in The Keeper Of Traken,
also appears as Seta.
