Doctor Who: The Spectre Of Lanyon Moor (#09)
|
|
|
In a desolate Cornish landscape littered with relics of prehistoric man,
the Doctor and Evelyn uncover a catalogue of mysteries.
What is the secret of the fogou? Can the moor be haunted by a demonic
host of imps? And what is Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart doing in
Pengriffen?
Teaming up with his old friend, the Doctor realises that an ancient
conflict is nearing its conclusion - and Lanyon Moor is set to be the
final battleground.

Episode One:
As Evelyn and a young walker named Nikki Hunter traverse the path, a
sudden mist comes down on them, and from this an evil noise of cruel
laughter seems to surround them as an imp appears and launches a brutal
attack...
Episode Two:
Evelyn is held prisoner by Flint, who explains that is his birthright to
impose his will on the world. When his machine is ready, he prepares to
use it first on Evelyn's eyes which have seen far too much of his plans
already...
Episode Three:
With help from Mrs Moynihan, the alien is finally freed from his prison
and after eighteen thousand years of torment on the insignificant planet
known as Earth his revenge begins now...
Episode Four:
After some persuasion from Evelyn, the Brigadier and the Doctor both
agree to accompany her back to the pub where they'll see about rustling
up some sort of late supper. After all the Doctor is beginning to feel a
trifle peckish.
Evelyn Smythe: 'Nothing like a jolly old yomp before breakfast'
The Doctor: 'I suppose I just read a lot of history books.'
Sir Archibald Flint: 'Do I detect a hint of scepticism?'
The Brigadier: 'I think you'll find that the Doctor can be quite
rigorous when the occasion demands.'
The Doctor: 'You make it a point of personal pride to scoff, mock,
and ridicule anybody who happens to inhabit a larger universe than the
one you've chosen to imprison yourself!'
The Brigadier: 'Arrogance is a kind of foolishness, and believe me
the Doctor is no fool.'
Professor Morgan: 'Are you telling me that my housekeeper has
entered into some kind of Faustian pact with a pixy from outer space?'
The Spectre Of Lanyon Moor sees the return of
Nicholas Courtney as
Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in his first Big Finish Doctor Who
audio appearance. It also features noted performers
James Bolam and
Susan Jameson.
