Memorable Quotes

Kalfedoran:'We have always considered your continued existence a moral abhorrence. Revenge is the only antidote to the suffering you inflicted.'

Captain Schweiger: 'What are these clothes your wearing? You look like your King George expecting to play cricket in the Atlantic ocean.'

Co-ordinator Vansell: 'Good intentions won't save us!'

The Doctor: 'The Time Lords really do want me dead!'

The Doctor: 'I can assure you that if you knew me well enough, you'd know that I'm hardly ever mistaken.'

The Doctor: 'Because when it comes down to it, I’m a bit of a know it all really. Androids, Cybermen, Daleks, Sontarans, Ice Warriors! You name it, I can quote you chapter and verse.'

Knight Commander Lyena: 'The different facets of the same personality. One is the thinker, one the compassionate, the other impatient; yet you all share these qualities too.'

The Seventh Doctor: 'Do you know, talking to yourself is often thought to be the first sign of madness?'
The Sixth Doctor: 'Yes, but a little madness helps, don’t you think?'

Comments

This story, as the cover blurb proudly proclaims, was the first time that Sylvester McCoy, Peter Davison and Colin Baker appeared together in a production where all three were playing their respective Doctors.

It's also notable for the first appearance of Maggie Stables in a Doctor Who story, who would later go on to play Doctor Evelyn Smythe, the Sixth Doctor's new audio companion.

Many of the actors and actresses featured in this story would return to the Doctor Who series in other roles in subsequent productions, notably Sarah Mowat and Mark Gatiss.
